Admission requirements
A person has the right to apply for admission to the joint doctoral study program “Business Management” if he/ she meets one of the following conditions: A master’s degree in social sciences – economics or business management.
Applicants who have acquired a postgraduate degree in a different scientific field must have at least 2 years of experience in business administration, public administration or education administration, as well as sufficient knowledge of management. Applications will be evaluated by the Admission Board, which reserves the right to recommend applicants additional courses (if necessary).
A description of application process and necessary documents checklist could be found on both RISEBA and BA School of Business and Finance websites. If the original documents are issued not in English, a certified translations should be provided.
STEP 1: DOCUMENT CHECKLIST
To apply for doctoral programme you will need the following documents:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Diplomas with the transcript of records (if not in English, a certified translation should be provided)
- ID or passport copy
- Proof of English skills: IELTS 6.5+ or equivalent (if an applicant doesn’t have any proof, he/she will be interviewed )
- Research proposal preliminary draft or ideas (up to 10 pages)
- List of research publications if applicable
- Motivation letter
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- a digital picture of the applicant
All applicants are required to pay the non-refundable application fee of 200 EUR. The invoice for the application fee will be issued by foreign student coordinator, as soon as an applicant profile is created, and necessary documents are uploaded. Remember that you are responsible for paying all additional fees associated with the money transfer so that the final amount received by the university is 200 EUR.
As soon as application fee is paid, applicant’s educational documents are submitted to the Academic Information Centre (AIC) for verification the level of education he/she obtained according to the Latvian Educational system: http://www.aic.lv/portal/en/arvalstu-diplomu-atzisana/academic-recognition-of-foreign-qualifications
If the level of education obtained abroad is not equal to the level of Master’s education recognized in Latvia, the applicants can apply for shortened RISEBA Master’s study program and obtain a recognized Latvian diploma that can be further admitted to the doctoral program.
